

Robert Curtis Long, Jr., 57, of Allen, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021. He was born on November 12, 1963, in Ogden, Utah, to the late Robert Curtis Long, Sr. and Joan Lee (Trowbridge) Long. Robert grew up around the world, including the Philippines, as his father served in the U.S. Air Force. He cherished his childhood memories and those became a big part of who he was later in life.
Robert lived life to its fullest every day, and had a genuine love for people. No one was stranger to him, as he loved talking to everyone. He had a wonderful sense of humor and lived to make others laugh. He enjoyed singing and could quickly make up silly songs and lyrics. Robert had a heart of gold, so generous and was looked to when others needed advice or a listening ear.
He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and guns and enjoyed going to the Bullet Trap Gun Range. Robert had a loved for horses and jewelry and enjoyed learning about history and collected a variety of antiques. He prided himself in his work as a mail clerk at Collin College the last 16 years, where he enjoyed interacting with the many people he crossed paths with there.
Most of all, Robert was a devoted father and he considered his children his most prized possessions in life. He thrived on being a supportive father and confidant to them, relished his time spent with them, and especially enjoyed attending their sporting events. Robert will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him, as he leaves a legacy of a life well lived and a life well loved.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Crabtree Wallace. He is survived by his three children, Jared (Courtney) Long of Midland, Angela Long of Dallas, and John Long of Dallas; grandson, Sawyer Long; best friend, Elena Long of Dallas; and sisters, Judy (Bob) Macek of St. Louis, Missouri, Janet Kidman of Rockwall, and Jackie Fuller of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, located at 2128 18th St., Plano, TX 75074.
