Ronnie Thomas King

February 21, 1937 - October 10, 2022

Ronnie Thomas King, age 85, of Plano, Texas, passed away on Monday,

October 10, 2022.

Ron was born on February 21, 1937 in DeMossville, Kentucky, to Sam and

Hilda King.

Ron graduated from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. He

served as a Private in the U.S. Army at Ft. Gordon and Ft. Knox, and then

went on to serve in the Army Reserves. He worked as a District Manager

for the Social Security Administration and was a member of the National

Active and Retired Federal Employees organization (NARFE).

Ron had a passion for history and regaled his family with stories of a life

well lived. His vacations often involved planned excursions to famous

landmarks. He was an avid reader of historical fiction and spy novels,

enjoyed Kentucky Wildcats’ basketball games, and loved the outdoors. Ron

was especially proud of his four grandchildren.

Ron was survived by his wife Dora King, whom he married in 2005. He was

also survived by his daughter Julie Ratliff and husband Ken, son Brian

King, grandchildren Kyle, Katie, and Callie Ratliff and Samuel King, and

sisters Judy Cowgill and husband Buddy, and Debbie Heibert and husband Skip.
