Stephen L. Wood, age 78, passed away on March 14, 2010 in Irving, TX. He was born on October 12, 1931 in Lexington, NC to John and Sammie Wood. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Phyllis Wood; son, Tim Wood of Houston, TX; daughter, Alicia Winston of Fredericksburg, VA; grandson, Stephen Winston; and nieces and nephews. Steve served in the US Navy for 4 years and retired from the US Air Force after 26 years of service. He was a Systems Engineer for MCI for 12 years. Steve loved to travel, read and history. He will be dearly missed by his family. Funeral Service will be held at Ted Dickey Funeral Home on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 3:00 pm.
