Thomas Patrick Guilfoil was born on February 3, 1958 in Arlington Heights, IL to Margaret and Dwight D. Guilfoil Jr. Thomas went through some college courses but ultimately found his career designing and constructing children’s playgrounds. Thomas enjoyed cars in general, whether it be working on his car or watching the number 3 of Dale Earnhardt fly around the track. He also enjoyed hunting. But most of all Thomas enjoyed spending time with his 2 daughters and his beloved grandchildren. Thomas is survived by his two daughters: Ashley Shuffield and Bailey Guilfoil as well as their mother Tracy Guilfoil. Thomas is also survived by the grandchildren that he loved so dearly, Skylar Shuffield and Hayden McBride and his siblings Judy, Bill, Mary Lou, Sue, Dan, and Mike. Thomas is predeceased by his parents as well as his sister Joyce. Services for Thomas will take place on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Ted Dickey Funeral Home at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent directly to the Disabled American Veterans or to the family for help toward funeral expenses.
