Tom Lancet, a true Texan, humanitarian, and a hall of famer in life passed on to his eternal resting place. Tom, beloved husband of 50 years, father and Granddad to all he met. Tom was the most generous, loving and supportive person around. If you were fortunate enough to have met Tom, you had made a true friend for life. Tom’s love for sports, especially Texas Tech, Frisco High School football, Plano Wildcat football, and Cooper's Frisco Dodger baseball, was immeasurable but his true passion was his grandchildren and family. His hearty laugh was both legendary and infectious. Anytime he walked into a room he brought immediate joy and happiness, a guy everyone was always happy to see. Our loss is heavens gain and Tom will forever have a front row seat to watch his grandkids future life experiences and endeavors each and every day. You don’t replace a Tom Lancet, you just remember who he was, what he stood for and try each day to spread love and joy as he so effortlessly did while he was here with us. Tom is survived by his wife, Charlotte, daughter Paige and her husband Martin Brewer, his grandsons Trevor Martin Brewer, Mason Shawn Brewer, and Cooper Thomas Brewer, as well as by his great granddaughter Brenlee Paige Brewer. Tom is also survived by his brother Bill and his wife Rita Lancet, as well as by his 2 sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. A service will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 2:00 at the First United Methodist Church in Plano with a visitation taking place the night before at Ted Dickey Funeral Home from 6 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you please make donations to the Frisco Education Foundation or The First United Methodist Church of Plano.
