Tommy Joe Yandell Sr. was born on December 17, 1933, in Plano, Texas. Joe joined the United States Navy and served four years. After returning to Plano, Joe barbered for many years. In addition, he owned a men's store and two dry cleaners. Joe and his beautiful bride Clara shared 59 years of marriage together. He experimented with cooking, creating new twists with recipes, especially BBQ. Joe thoroughly enjoyed playing dominoes, cards, and remained an avid player until his passing. More than anything, Joe loved his family and friends, and he loved being able to spend time with them. Joe leaves behind his sons: Tommy Joe Yandell Jr. and Keith Yandell and his wife Tammy. Joe also leaves behind his daughters: Belinda Cox, Brenda Compton and her husband Randy, Lucretia Fergeson and her husband Jim. Also, Joe leaves behind his sisters: Nola Mae Creed, Wanda Wilson, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom he loved deeply. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that the donations be made to the Cal Farley Boys Ranch.
