Vera Lucinda Jones (92) of Wylie, Texas went to be with her Lord on September 15th, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born September 23, 1920 in Utica, New York, the youngest of seven children. She loved having family near to her. Working since she was 13, she happily retired after many years of service and moved to Texas in 1994 to be nearer to her only daughter and her family. Though she is preceded in death by many family members, she is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Gail and James Gerace of Wylie, Texas; grandson and his family Vincent, Teresa and Andrew Gerace of Wichita, Kansas; granddaughter and her husband Stacey and Lester Beasley of Murphy, Texas; nieces Gloria Hutton of Whitesboro, New York and Betty Hagas of Bonita Springs, Florida. She is remembered by all who knew her as a woman who loved God, family, food, music and dancing.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 until 9PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11AM at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano. Burial will follow at Plano Mutual Cemetery.
