To describe Bill in one word it would be “Soldier”, a powerful word with multiple meanings and contexts which is only fitting to describe a man and protector with steadfast character, strength and ability to persevere through the countless obstacles in his life and to do so without any complaints, keeping his head held high and courage to look forward and embrace the next challenge. Bill’s loyalty and commitment to his loved ones and his country prevailed in his approach to his daily routine as well as his enjoyment of life’s humor and beauty. He lived a charmed childhood and upbringing primarily in Houston, Texas with his sister, Ann, and witnessed his parents’ successes in their electrical business which Bill avidly learned from and participated in with pride. Bill received traditional etiquette guidance from his mother which made formative and long lasting impression. He often proclaimed he was from the “Old School” and would then reminisce about a life experience to demonstrate his values. He was a devoted Mason and proud member of the Masonic Lodge #404 in Longview, Texas.
Bill had a passion for action and suspense which led to his adventure in the U.S. Army and career in Law Enforcement and Security where his existing ability to keep his belongings and appearance “neat and Tidy” was accelerate to form the ultimate perfectionist personality that was apparent in his daily regimen. Bills’ most cherished possession, Jannice, adapted (sometimes reluctantly) to fully embrace and support this standard of excellence each and every day they shared. After 46 years of marriage, Bill commonly referred to Jannice, known by friends and colleagues as “JJ”, as his bride, his girl and little one. Over the years, Bill and Jannice’s unconditional love and commitment for each other was observed by family, friends, health care professionals and even the local places they often visited. His kind and loving words to Jannice were often of encouragement and admiration. Recently, Bill would often remind Jannice that he was so proud of her and her career and life accomplishments. Friends and strangers often inquired to know their secret for maintaining such a strong relationship for so many years. Humor and southern charm kept their conversations, laughter and experiences entertaining.
Bill’s 73 years of life are filled with memories, triumphs and tribulations. Now, Bill is in a place where the “daily grind” doesn’t exist, there are no cares or worries and instead eternal love prevails all.
