Carl A. Schumacher

Schumacher, Carl A., age 83, of Plant City, FL (born in Milo, Iowa) passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. Carl was a US Air Force veteran, and worked and retired after 26 years at the Vehicle Maintenance Fleet US Postal Service in Lakeland.

He was the past owner of Schumacher Grocery Store and was a founder of the East Hillsborough Law Enforcement Appreciation Ceremony that is held annually. Carl is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty, and his children, Darryl (Mary) Schumacher, Carla (Dan) Hart, Eva (Wayne) Caraway, Gina (Gary) Blake, brothers, Larry of Plant City, Leroy, Tom, sisters, Alice Fawcett, Ruth Wood, all of Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Albert and Arabella Schumacher, and brothers, Joe, Ray, Ed, Paul, and John Earl.

Visitation for Carl will be Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 pm at Wells Memorial and Event Center. Funeral Services will be Wednesday December 19, 2012 11:00 am at Lebanon Baptist Church, 110 N. Forbes Road, Plant City, with burial to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
