Papa Wayne, I fondly remember when you and Grandma Betty would drive by Nana's house and give me the tightest hugs, making me laugh with the same 'got your nose' joke every time. Even though I was just a little girl then, the times you and Granny let me spend the night meant the world to me. I still cherish the memories of our rides to the store to pick out my favorite candy and our trips to get ice cream. You were always a sweet and caring person, and I've never seen anything otherwise. Everyone would say, 'Wayne loves him some Grandma Betty,' and it was true. I've always admired the kind of man you were, and when I think of true love, I think of you two. I pray that you continue to watch over our family, and we'll all meet again one day in Heaven. Rest in peace. Love you.

Grandpa I miss you so much! You were my only grandpa. I wish you didn't have to leave us. Love bunny 🐰 

Wayne, it was nice knowing you.  You were always happy and friendly every time we spent time together with you and Betty. You always treated us like family, and we could talk for hours. You were always caring and willing to help anyone that needed it, especially your wife Betty and your family.
We are truly going to miss you and our conversations.  But you will never be forgotten. We know in our hearts that you are in a place now with our heavenly father with no more pain.

Betty, we pray that the Lord wraps his loving arms around you, protects you, gives you peace and comfort through this difficult time.

We will miss you so much my dear Uncle Wayne. You were always such a warm and loving presence in our family. The way you loved and cared for my Aunt Betty was such an inspiration to what a good man can be. Fly high with the angels & give everyone up there a big kiss from us❤️

As I sit down to write this letter, my heart is heavy with sadness at the thought of saying goodbye to you. It’s hard to imagine not having you around anymore, but I know you lived a long, fulfilling life but it’s time for you to rest.
Even though you won’t physically be with us your memory will live on in our hearts as much as it hurts to say goodbye I’m comforted by the thought you will be with loved ones. I know you’ll be watching us from above and that gives me peace.

My deepest condolences go out to the family of Mr. Wayne Highsmith.  I met Mr. Wayne and Ms. Betty over 15 years ago and we have been yard sale buddies every since. I will miss the presence of a truly kind, generous, and thoughtful neighbor. He will be missed by many. 

And to Ms. Betty, may care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to you through the days ahead.

He had the heart that cared completely. He had the smile that brought so much pleasure. He had the love that brought joy beyond measure. There are many things to say who you were. You were the best of the best. You stepped in and loved me as your own. You may not have been related by blood but you loved me more than anyone could. I’ll always treasure the memories I have of you. I was so blessed to have the perfect step-dad. Thank you for being you and for your endless love. As I sit here and read all the beautiful tributes of your life, I also had many reflections of the person you were. You touched my life in many ways, that I will always treasure. You may not be here with us but you will be in my heart forever.

Papa I will miss you dearly. I know I didn’t get a chance to see you and say goodbye before you had to go home with the lord but as I say goodbye to your physical presence, I am comforted knowing my grandpa’s spirit will always be a part of me and you will always have a place in my heart, I never got a chance to tell you how much I appreciated everything you and grandma have done for me and your great grandchildren. 
I also wanted to thank you for being so wonderful to my loving grandma. You were the best papa in the world that had unconditional love. I want to start off by saying, " Papa Wayne was an amazing husband and person!" Throughout my childhood and even now as an adult you were always willing to lend a helping hand. You weren't a big talker but that's okay your actions spoke loud and clear. The Love you showed my dear Grandmother, your beautiful wife, was unconditional. You would do anything for her and always did. She loves you so much and you will be dearly missed by many. Myself, Alex and the kids know you're in a better place and that our precious Lord and Savior has you wrapped in his hands FOREVER!

Papa you're going to be greatly missed. You were beyond awesome!  You were always there for us at a moments notice. Full of wisdom and knowledge. You taught me so much over the years. What a wonderful husband you were to Granny. I thank you for all memories and lessons learned. I have so many memories as a kid at your house doing work, watching your favorite TV shows, you and Granny driving me to school when I lived with Granny. I hope to continue making you proud and know you're looking over us.
