

be with her Lord at the age of 95 years old. She was born on July 11, 1929 in Dunkirk, New York.
She was a graduate of Cassadaga High School in 1947 and received her BA, and MS, at the University of South Florida. She was an elementary school librarian for many years, and briefly an art teacher with the Hillsborough County School System prior to retirement. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Dover.
A beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jackie enjoyed sewing
and creating quilts for family members, she also loved collecting cobalt colored glassware.
Music was a big part of her life. She originally played the trumpet in her high school band, but
she also played the piano for many years until arthritis prevented it. She was in the church hand
bell choir for a time and was actively involved in the First Baptist Church of Dover. In later years,
when she was able, she particularly enjoyed attending Sunday school and church services with
her family and friends until her health prevented it. When no longer able to attend she watched
the broadcast of Sunday services each week at home until her passing. She has influenced and
affected the lives of so many people.
She is predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Mildred Larson (Haines), and grandchildren
Jonathan Carl Lamoreaux and Sophia Isabella Holmes, and nieces Gloria Joy Burkett and
Robin Lee (Burkett) Scott .
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her sister Geraldine (Stan) Burkett, by children
Karen (Floyd) Lamoreaux, Christine (Jim) Sitton, Stephen (Priscilla), Bethany (Mike) Lancaster,
Timothy (Sugey), David (Dian) and Lee (Kate). And sixteen grandchildren, seven
step-grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren. She is
also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Dover, 3223 Gallagher Road, Dover, Florida with Pastor Mark Clark officiating. Family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. and interment will take place at First Baptist Dover Church Cemetery.
