Williams, Mattie Louise, age 87, of Plant City, FL passed away on December 21, 2016. Mattie was born in Largo, FL and spent her adult life in Plant City. In her early years, she worked at McCrory’s in Plant City. She was an accomplished seamstress. As her husband, Billy, began farming, she worked alongside him until their retirement. She loved to travel and fish, and was a multiple Blue Ribbon Winner for her pillows at the Strawberry Festival. She and Billy traveled to the same hotel for many years and stayed in the same room in North Carolina where they enjoyed the changing of the leaves.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Williams, and daughter, Susan Williams. Loving family who survive are sons, William Keith Williams (Laural), Darryl Floyd Williams (Gwen); daughter, Debbie Norris (Jerry); seven grandchildren, Sherry Kirton, Jay Kirton, Chris Williams, Sarah Williams Avram, Kacy Williams Richardson, Amanda Martinez Brewer, and Brittany Martinez Warner; and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be December 27, 2016, 3pm at Wells Memorial. Visitation will begin at 2pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Enon Cemetery.
