Our beloved Otoniel Estrada Madera III, aka Otonielito Bebe Cutie Pie, was born on February 22, 2019, and granted his angel wings on October 4, 2024, following his brave fight against Diffuse Midline Glioma (DIPG), a rare and aggressive brain cancer.
At just 5 years old, Otoniel illuminated the lives of all who knew him, his heart overflowing with kindness and a soul that radiated warmth. Nuestro bebesito loved life, embraced silliness, and brought immeasurable joy to everyone around him. Otonielito’s favorite color, yellow, beautifully reflected the light he spread into this world and served as a reminder of the happiness and love he so effortlessly shared. 🌈☀️💛
Otoniel's favorite phrases, “Ya es día” (Ready to start the day) and “Que vamos a hacer hoy” (What are we going to do today?), beautifully captured his love of life and adventurous spirit. He also often reassured others with “It’s okay, no tengas miedo” (It’s okay, don’t be afraid), a testament to his bravery and kindness.
Otoniel Estrada Madera III is survived by his loving mami, Mariela Estrada, and was predeceased by his devoted papi, Otoniel Madera Jr. He is forever cherished by his maternal abuelita, Elia Estrada; maternal abuelito Rafael Estrada (aka “NeNo”); paternal abuelita, Rosario Martinez; paternal abuelito, Otoniel Madera; and cat Olga Madera (aka his Bebe).
He is also forever in the hearts of his maternal Tia Elvia Estrada, maternal Tia Joyce Estrada, paternal Tio Jesus Madera, paternal Tia Julisa Martinez Madera (aka Tia Juli), and Tio Keith Nightingale. Otoniel will always be remembered by his beloved cousin, Yanessa Nightingale (aka Yanessita), who was like a sister to him, as well as his loving cousins Yesenia Estrada, Leilani Estrada, Nazario Estrada Jr, and Keonte Nightingale.
Otoniel will be deeply missed and cherished by his best friends Ian Bryan, Joy Bryan, Nathaniel, Jameson, and special loved ones Ociel Aguilar and William Humphries (aka Billy).
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 5-8 PM at Wells Memorial Funeral Home in Plant City, FL. There will be a memorial service on October 19, 2024, at 9:00 AM at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Thonotosassa, Florida, followed by a final resting service at the Garden of Peace Cemetery in Plant City, FL.
Baby O’s memory and the joy he brought to everyone will continue to inspire and guide our hearts every day.
With his courage, Otoniel—aka Otonielito, Bebe Cutie Pie, Baby O, Baby OT, Oat, or OT3—led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories.
As we remember Otoniel, we also honor the countless children affected by childhood cancer, particularly DIPG. Every year, this disease takes away the joy and dreams of many little ones, reminding us of the urgent need for awareness, research, and support.
Special acknowledgment to Lori from NoahBRAVE and the following cancer foundations: Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Fund, Magic for Maddie, Sunnie Strong, and Live Grays Way. We also extend our gratitude to family and friends who have supported our angelito Otoniel throughout this journey.
