TAYLOR, Ravenell Purvis, age 96, of Plant City, FL passed away on October 10, 2016. She was born in Keysville, FL to Daniel W. and Della (Hightower) Purvis. She was an elementary school teacher at both Pinecrest and Jackson for over 38 years, a member and elder of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Plant City, and a long time member and past President of Plant City Business and Professional Women’s Club. She was also a life member of East Hillsborough Historical Society and Alpha Delta Kappa.
Ravenell was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, John Taylor; and her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, DeLane Hightower; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be Friday, October 14, 2016 from 10am to 11am at Wells Memorial Funeral Home in Plant City. A funeral service will begin at 11am with Pastor Don Mason officiating, followed by a burial at East Oaklawn Cemetery in Plant City.
