with the Lord on May 29,2021 at his home surrounded by
his loving family. He was born December 14, 1936 in
Ettawa, Alabama, son of Louis and Mattie Snead.
He was Produce Manager at Winn Dixie for 46 years, and
also worked on the Inventory Crew at Winn Dixie before
retiring in 1989.
He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Plant
City, Florida.
Troy is survived by his wife of 32 years, Eloise M. Snead;
one son, Troy Lee Snead, Jr.; one daughter, Tara Lana
Snead; 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren 2 step
grandchildren, and 7 living brothers and sisters.
Troy loved gardening and music and was a member of the
Society for the Preservation of Early Country Western
Music for many years. He sang and played the bass guitar
and rhythm guitar, and he was with 3 gospel groups, The
Kent Family Gospel Singers, Gospel Echos, Down Home
Sounds. He sang gospel and country music.
There will be a "Celebration of Troy's Life" June 19th at
1:00 pm at Harmony Baptist Church, 6008 W. Knights
Griffin Road, Plant City, Florida 33565 and will be
officiated by Rev. James Basham.
A burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery on
June 22, 2021 at 12:30 p.m.
