She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Plant City and a lifetime member of Oakwood Baptist Church. Her hobbies included spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren who affectionately called her Gigi, and enjoyed quiet time reading novels.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Jesse; son, William Boyett of Plant City; daughters, Michele Griffith (Wade) of Plant City and Kathy Johnson (Robert) of Lakeland; sisters, Martha Locklear, Lena McLemore, Roylyn Clemens and Mary Ann Newton; brothers, James Madden and Clayton Lane; 3 grandsons, Aaron Johnson (Jessica), Nick Johnson, and Hayden Johnson; and 2 great granddaughters, Amelia Johnson and Charlotte Johnson.
A visitation for Vera will be Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Wells Memorial Funeral Home, 1903 W. Reynolds Street, Plant City, Florida 33563 at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
Vera Mae will be laid to rest in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, Brandon, Florida.
