Passed away peacefully at the West Island
Palliative Care Center on September 5, 2015.
Predeceased by his parents Avril and Donald
B. Martin, he leaves to mourn his beloved wife
Margaret, his dearly loved children Heather
(Glenn Bradley), Catherine (Robert Davis),
Brian (Nancy Schlesinger) and Robert
(Athanasia Antonopoulos) and his cherished
grandchildren Cedric and Melissa Bradley;
Charlotte and Sean Davis; Chase and Sophie
Martin and Talia, Mila and Ava Martin. He is
also survived by his sister Fiona Maarhuis
(late Robin Braithwaite), his brother Howard
(Barbara Pilon), his sisters-in-law Anne (late
Richard D. Price), Dinah (Roger Glanville), Jill
(Hugh Berwick) and his brother-in-law Dick
Freeborough (Diane) and many nieces and
nephews. Graham was born in Heswall,
Lancashire, England and came to Canada in
1947. He attended Roslyn School, Lower
Canada College and then the University of
New Brunswick where he got his bachelor and
master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering. In
1962, he started teaching electrical
engineering at Sir George Williams College
(now Concordia University). He quickly
became interested in Computer Science and
ran the Computer Center from 1965 until
1976 when he became the Vice-Rector of
Administration and Finance for Concordia for
10 years. Then in 1991 he was appointed
Principal of the Institute for Cooperative
Education from which he finally retired after
39 years of service in 2001. Throughout his
career at Concordia, he always taught at least
one course each term in order to stay in touch
with the students who were his main concern.
Over the years he had many interests, he was
a Cub and Scout leader and Treasurer for
Quebec Council of Scouts Canada; Member
and President in 1986-87 of the Montreal
Rotary Club, President of Quebec Easter
Seals for many years. In 2002, he was
awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for
service to disabled children. He was a Church
warden for Christ Church (Beaurepaire);
Member and President of Montreal-
Lakeshore Rotary Club 2007-2008; Member
of the Board of MacKay Center and later
MAB-MacKay Center , also Chairman of
Board of Camp Massawippi (camp for
disabled children) about which he was very
passionate. In later years, he drove for
Beaconsfield Meals on Wheels and helped out
in the Christmas Park School library. In lieu of
flowers, donations to Camp Massawippi
would be appreciated. Cheque payable to

kind and generous man who gave freely of his
time to volunteer and help others. He will be
greatly missed by his family and all who knew
him. Rest in Peace. Family will receive

Friday, September 11 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and
