It is with deep sorrow that the family of Janet Louise Jackson announces her passing on December 16, 2021 at the Lakeshore General Hospital with loved ones by her side, following a courageous and, at times, Herculean battle with cancer. Louise was predeceased by her parents, George and Lucie (Dussault) Ely and her brother, George Jr.
Born in Montreal on January 12, 1946, she attended Mount Royal Catholic High and went on to graduate from Sir George Williams University in 1967, where she met her adoring husband, Richard (Rick) Jackson.
Along with Rick, Louise leaves to mourn her dearly beloved children, Scott (Christine) and Shaun (Matt) and her darling grandchildren, Olivia and Charlie as well as numerous other relatives and friends in Montreal, Toronto and the United States.
She was truly an unforgettable soul who made an impression on everyone with whom she interacted. Louise had a passion for life and put 100% effort into everything she did for herself and for all others around her. She enjoyed and was proficient in many sports and activities including ballet, figure skating, tennis, curling, golf and walking her cherished pet companions; however what she enjoyed most of all was playing and being with her grandchildren. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious and she will be dearly remembered by all.
The family will hold a private celebration of Louise's life at a later date. Donations in her name to the MUHC Foundation/DOVEE Project (muhcfoundation.com/category/dream-big/cancer/dovee/ would be appreciated.
