Margaret Anne Ralston McKnight Vickerman

Beloved Mom of Alana (Steve) Schmidt, Alison (John) Nix, Verna (Grant) O’Donnell, Jason (Susan) McKnight, Jared (Tanya) McKnight, and Karen (Scott) Gross. She was the proud Grandma of fourteen, rejoicing Great-Grandma of five, and the dearly loved sister of Tim (Carol) Ralston and all the In-Laws far and wide.

She was met in Glory by the husband of her youth, Phil McKnight; the husband of her renewal, Ernie Vickerman; her parents, Henry and Iva Ralston, her sister, Mary Lynn Knight; and countless other dear friends in Christ.

Born in Guelph during the Second World War, Mom moved with her family to Montreal in 1956. It was the city she always called home. She worked at CN Rail while single and newlywed, but loved her primary calling of raising her five children. She strived to help each of us grow to be adults, and navigate the wider world with wisdom. We’re thankful.

She also loved serving the Lord through her local church and other outreaches; she thrived as part of a going concern. Her gifting as a musician was deep—both on the piano and with her voice. She was always willing to help others worship the Lord through song.

She was a warm presence in every room she found herself. She was quick to laugh. Even in the very darkest days of her journey, she exhibited a joy inexpressible that only can come from the Lord Jesus.

We love her dearly and rejoice that she is free now in heaven.

We are deeply grateful to the excellent staff at Grace Village in Sherbrooke, QC for their tender care during her illness and her final steps.

A service celebrating her life will be held Saturday January 13th 2:00pm at Bethel Chapel, 105 Dieppe Ave, Pointe Claire, QC. Visitation to follow.
