It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Peter Malcolm Nobbs on June 19, 2013, at the age of 83, after a prolonged illness at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Pointe Claire, Quebec. He will be dearly missed by Erika Marianne, his beloved wife of 55 years and companion in life's adventures, his daughters Karen Prosper (Richard Prosper) and Andrea Nobbs (Bruno Jauernig), proud grandfather to Sara Prosper, Megan Prosper, Braden Jauernig and Kaitlyn Jauernig, and brother Edgar Nobbs (Thelma Nobbs) and sister-in- law Margaret Gruber. He will also be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews, family and friends in Canada, England, Australia, US and Tobago. Predeceased by his beloved sister Betty Iles, and brother Norman. Peter lived a full and happy life. Soon after his birth in Mauritius, his family moved to British Guiana (Guyana) where he spent his childhood. He attended Queen's College in Georgetown and later graduated with a BSc from the University of Wales at Bangor. He began his career as a Forester with the Colonial Service in B.G. Upon meeting Erika he immigrated to Canada where they raised their two daughters in Dollard des Ormeaux, and he worked the rest of his career at the Pulp and Paper Research Institute of Canada retiring as Director of Information Services in 1992. It was Peter's passion for his family and friends, joy of reading and writing, enjoyment in gardening, keen sense of humour and love of travel that those who knew him will remember. How he will be missed. A gathering to celebrate Peter's life will be held on Saturday, June 29th, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home, followed by a reception. A special thanks to the ICU staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital for the wonderful care that was received. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory to the Lakeshore General Hospital would be appreciated.
