With all his customary wit and spirit, and with unparalleled grace, we said goodbye to this beautiful soul at the West Island Palliative Care Residence in the wee hours of July 23, 2019 at the impressive age of 91. Loving husband (Margaret Helen Grant McMillan) and father of Scott (Patricia Esposito), Michael (Nathalie Charland) & James (Stacy Lowe). Revered grandfather of Victoria, Emilie, Cameron, Matthew, Zachary, Caleigh, Jonathan & Elijah. Bob is also survived by older brother Alf. Master of Ceremonies at family holidays, and a true comedian to his friends (or any stranger on the street) and never short on stories, quips or compliments. Bob was an inimitable presence in every life he touched. Born in Virden, Manitoba, Bob married the love of his life, Helen, in 1958. They relocated to Montreal with the boys in 1972. Always dedicated to his craft, whether smoke jumping in his 20s, or joining Air Canada in his 30s where he remained for over three decades or working as a courier for the Lakeshore General Hospital until his retirement at the age of 68. Bob spent his remaining quarter century creating quality memories with family and friends and garnering himself a reputation as a real card/pool shark, as well as for his big, beautiful, contagious smile and kind nature. Family will welcome all those who wish to pay their respects on August 15 at the chapel at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White (222, Autoroute 20, Pointe-Claire, Quebec H9S 3X6) starting at 11:30 am followed by a memorial service starting at 12:30 pm. In true Scottish form, a wake will follow at Ye Old Orchard Pub & Grill (322 Lakeshore Dr, Pointe-Claire, QC H9S 4L7) from 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to West Island Palliative Care Residence.
