It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ross Alexander Novinger on December 20, 2016 at the young age of 63 after a valiant fight with melanoma. Devoted and beloved dad to Krysten (Jason Benabou) and Nick. Son of the late James and Merle Novinger, Ross will be deeply missed by his brothers Robert (Patricia) and Ken (Dale) of Barrie, the late Ryk, and former wife and best friend, Laurie (Scott) Poole of Dallas, TX. Ross was a managing director of Marsh Canada where his career spanned 42 years in global risk management. Ross loved his work and travelled the world on behalf of his clients. An avid golfer and motorcycle enthusiast, he will be remembered for his enjoyment of life, love of cigars and red wine. The family would like to thank the Royal Victoria Palliative Care team and the many friends who visited and reached out to Ross during his illness. He was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love which gave him great comfort knowing that so many people cared. The family will receive friends and colleagues on Thursday, December 22 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, December 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Service will be held on Friday, December 23 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Victoria Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
