Michael was the son of Rene and Rose (Paquette) Sauve. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his husband, Leo Oliver and two sisters Anita and Lise. He is survived by one sister Lilliane, brother in laws Harris and Jack (Pat) and sister in laws Georgie and Nora and many loving nieces and nephews.
Michael spent most of his life living in Pointe Claire and Beaconsfield. His professional life was spent “downtown” in custom brokerage for both Mendelssohn and Livingston. There will be visitation for Mr. Sauve at Collins Clarke MacGillvray White in Pointe Claire on Saturday, January 21st from 9:30-11:30 am with service to follow in the Chapel, and burial at the Jardin du Souvenir on Rue St.Jean. Donations to NOVA, the Canadian Cancer Society or one of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family, he will be missed by many!
As a child Michael grew up on Cartier Ave. and attended Matrise St. Joachim. He had memories of when Cartier was still gravel and the local quarry operational. He could recall when the indigenous people would paddle across the lake to move the rock downstream, he held many fond memories of this time. As a young man he enjoyed the arts both here and with family in New York and California. Once he met Leo they became homeowners on Beaconsfield Blvd. where together their interest grew in collecting antiques and anything beautiful. They delighted the neighborhood with their decorations for both Christmas and Halloween. That didn’t change when later in life they moved into Southwest One and created beautiful surroundings there as well!
The service will be livestreamed. Please see service details below.
