Ana Nunez

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and Tía to many, Ana passed away peacefully on the morning of April 6, 2026, at the age of 93. She is survived by her daughter, Margarita Núñez; her son, Juan Carlos Núñez; her brother, Mario Poyanco; her granddaughters, Jamie Conlin, Amber Conlin Campbell, Isabel Núñez, and Sara Núñez; her great-granddaughters, Adair Conlin and Emilia Campbell; her great-grandson, Emmet Campbell; her nieces and nephews, Gabriela Poyanco, Verónica Bugeño, Cecilia Poyanco Cordero, Maritza Poyanco, Mario Poyanco, Marcela Poyanco, and Marcelo Poyanco; her grand-nephew, Eduardo Rodríguez; her grand-niece, Macarena Rodríguez; her grand-nephew, Diego Rodriguez ; and dozens of cherished family members and friends.

Ana was a woman of great character, born in Copiapó, Chile, on January 2, 1933. In June 1964, Ana and her husband, Fredy Núñez, bravely emigrated to Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota, with their daughter Margarita and son Juan Carlos.

In her new homeland, Ana embraced many new experiences. She learned English, learned to drive, earned her driver’s license, and worked many different jobs. Most notably, she worked at the Arrow Shirt Company in Virginia, Minnesota, and later retired from Minnesota Power & Light in Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota.

While living in California, Ana volunteered with the Sisters of Notre Dame and at the Thousand Oaks Senior Center, where she lovingly knitted sweaters and clothing for those in need. Ana was an avid traveler who visited many destinations from coast to coast across the United States, as well as numerous countries in Europe. She made many trips to Chile and also traveled to Mexico and Canada. She was highly skilled with her sewing machine and an avid knitter, often creating beautiful clothing and handmade pieces for friends and family.

One of Ana’s greatest joys was spending time with her family in Chile and enjoying relaxing days at her beach house in Rodillo, Chile. She especially cherished the time she spent with her many grand-nieces and grand-nephews and deeply loved her granddaughters. Ana was blessed by God with a long and lovely life and is now resting in peace with Him.

Ana fue una mujer de gran carácter, nacida en Copiapó, Chile, el 2 de enero de 1933. En junio de 1964, Ana y su esposo, Fredy Núñez, emigraron valientemente a Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota, junto a su hija Margarita y su hijo Juan Carlos.

En su nueva patria, Ana abrazó muchas experiencias nuevas. Aprendió inglés, aprendió a conducir, obtuvo su licencia de conducir y desempeñó distintos trabajos a lo largo de su vida. De manera destacada, trabajó en la fábrica Arrow Shirt Company en Virginia, Minnesota, y más tarde se jubiló de Minnesota Power & Light en Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota.

Mientras vivía en California, Ana colaboró como voluntaria con las Hermanas de Notre Dame y en el Centro de Adultos Mayores de Thousand Oaks, donde tejía con cariño suéteres y ropa para quienes lo necesitaban. Ana fue una apasionada viajera que recorrió numerosos destinos de costa a costa en Estados Unidos, así como varios países de Europa. Realizó muchos viajes a Chile y también visitó México y Canadá. Era muy hábil con su máquina de coser y una apasionada tejedora, creando a menudo hermosas prendas y piezas hechas a mano para familiares y amigos.

Una de las mayores alegrías de Ana era compartir tiempo con su familia en Chile y disfrutar de días tranquilos en su casa de playa en Rodillo, Chile. Atesoraba especialmente el tiempo que pasaba con sus numerosas sobrinas nietas y sobrinos nietos, y amaba profundamente a sus nietas. Ana fue bendecida por Dios con una vida larga y hermosa, y ahora descansa en paz con Él.
