March 9, 1944 – June 9, 2025
Beverley Yvonne Green, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the age of 81.
Born in Jamaica, West Indies, Beverley grew up with a deep-rooted sense of kindness, humility, and service to others—values that remained at the heart of who she was. Beverley was a proud graduate of St. Hugh’s High School for Girls. She began her career in public service with the Civil Service of Jamaica, holding positions at the Administrator General’s Department and the Town Planning Department. Her last place of employment was with Rock-Tenn, a company now known as WestRock, where she was a valued member of the accounting team until her retirement.
A woman of quiet faith, Beverley was an active member of the Anglican Cathedral in Spanish Town, Jamaica, and later served on the Altar Guild at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church in Coral Springs, Florida.
Beverley’s true calling was helping others. In her later years, she worked part-time at Nova Southeastern University, supporting young adults with special needs—work that brought her deep joy and purpose. She also volunteered at the Cantor Center, where she was not only a dedicated volunteer but later on as a participant in the Living Room program, where she found community, support, and fulfillment.
Beverley is lovingly remembered by her former husband Rudolph Green, her daughters Karen Green-Walker and Michelle Green, and her stepdaughter Andrea Chester. She was a proud grandmother to Alan Veal, Katelyn Rone, Brandon St. Louis, and Zachary Chester, her great-grandmother to Ivyanna Isaac, niece, nephews, and cousins.
Her warmth, quiet strength, and gentle wisdom left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Whether through her homemade dishes, her soft-spoken encouragement, or her selfless acts of care, Beverley lived a life of grace and compassion.
A private celebration of Beverley’s life will be held on June 21st at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Cantor Center, where Beverley generously gave her time and found meaningful connection in her later years. In the comments section, please include, “In memory of Beverley Green for the Living Room Program.”
