Bridget Ambrogio, born on September 3, 1928, in the picturesque village of Saint Ninfa, Sicily, Italy, bid a peaceful farewell on October 26, 2023, in Boca Raton, Florida. Her life's journey took her from the shores of Italy to the bustling streets of Ellis Island when she was just eight years old, alongside her beloved family.
In the 1940s, fate brought Bridget together with the love of her life, Joseph. Their hearts entwined, and they embarked on a beautiful journey together, culminating in a heartfelt wedding on September 3, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York. Bridget was predeceased by her parents, siblings, devoted husband Joseph, and son-in-law, but she leaves behind a cherished legacy in the form of her four children: Katherine (Chris), Josephine (Mike), Patrick (Vivian), and Tommy (Sandra).
Bridget's love extended to her numerous grandchildren: Nicholas, Bridget, Joseph, Christin, Alex, Nicole, and Stefan. They, in turn, blessed her with the joy of great-grandchildren, including Avery, Riley, Jace, Everly, Emerson, Olivia, Oceanna, and Colson. Her love knew no bounds, and her family extended to nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends who all held a special place in her heart.
Bridget had a passion for the culinary arts, with a special knack for crafting delectable Italian dishes, including her famous macaroni and meatballs. For her, cooking was a labor of love, and her creations were a testament to that love. She also held a soft spot for none other than Mickey Mouse, who shared the same birth year as her.
In her leisure time, Bridget enjoyed card games, particularly Gin 13, poker and crazy eights, played with friends who shared her enthusiasm. Her love for the arts extended to a fondness for opera and an appreciation for musicals. Red roses held a special place in her heart, symbolizing love and passion.
As a mother, Bridget was the embodiment of humility, kindness, and unwavering love. She never raised her voice, always providing a safe haven for her children, allowing them to stay home from school when needed, and preparing every meal with devotion. Every day and every holiday were made extraordinary through her meticulous decorating and delectable food. She was the true matriarch of the family, around whom everyone naturally gravitated.
Bridget's husband, Joseph, was a hardworking man who owned donut shops in New York. Despite the temptation, he never brought donuts home, but instead, he returned with the sweet scent of sugar clinging to him. Bridget, a dedicated wife and mother, upheld the sanctity of her home while her husband toiled, making it a warm and inviting place for her family.
Bridget Ambrogio's life was marked by love, laughter, and a deep sense of family. She was a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever shine in the lives of her family and friends, and her legacy of love will be passed down through the generations. Bridget's life, a testament to unwavering love and devotion, will be forever cherished and celebrated.
A visitation for Bridget will be held Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064. A funeral service, officiated by Deacon Cardenas, will occur at 12:00 PM with the committal service at 1:00 PM all on the same property.
