

Cecilio Francisco Lopez was born on February 1, 1921 in Abreus, Cuba. He married the love of his life, Mary Chaple, on September 26, 1953. Together, they had three beautiful children, Rose, Mimi, and Frank. During the outbreak of the Cuban Revolution, in February of 1960, Cecilio left a communist Cuba ahead of his family in order to secure a better life for them in the United States. In September of 1960, the Lopez family reunited in the San Fernando Valley of California, finally settling in Miami, Florida in 1977. After nearly 95 years on earth, Cecilio passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2016. He leaves behind his wife and children as well as seven grandchildren, Andres, Ashley, Kristina, Leandra, Frank Jr., Albert, and Sophia; and great grandchild, Andy, who all referred to him affectionately as "Abuelito Ceci" or "Pito". He will always be remembered for his compassion, gentle spirit, and sense of humor.
