She is survived by her children; David Dumas (Melissa), Fred Dumas (Marcy), and Alice Bors (Gary), grandchildren; Amy Dumas, Jon Dumas (Hilliary), Josh Bors (Tarah), Daniel Dumas (Martha), Katy Dumas, and great grandchildren; Alex Dumas, Anna Dumas, Samantha Bors, and Ella Bors.
She was known as Grandma Char, but was more famously known as Quacks to her five Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. She loved to be surrounded by her family and the feeling was mutual. Charlotte was active and mentally alert for over 104 years. Her legendary birthday parties were given each year, and she filled her family and the world with her love, advice, and understanding.
Charlotte was known as the Traveling Grandmother because she toured much of the world with her family, and never missed the annual family ski trips, all after the age of 65.
At 104 she still liked to go to the beach, and celebrate holidays. As tired as her body had become, she never lost her zest for life. At her 100th birthday party she appropriately summed things up with the following words: “I am such a lucky person to have experienced so much of life, and have been so well taken care of by my children. I hope you all are fortunate enough to enjoy as much of love, life, and the world as I have. Thank you for sharing your lives with me. My heart is full of love for all of you. Good night.”
