

Garner DDS, Clare Lee age 82 of Pompano Beach, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 24, 2011. Born in Flint, Michigan on July 6, 1929, he attended St. Thomas Military Academy which was the start of a lifelong respect and love for military life. He attended Marquette University, followed by dental school at Marquette University School of Dentistry, where he met his wife of 59 years, Joanne. For four years he was stationed at Fort Clayton in the Panama Canal Zone and was honorably discharged. He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; by four children: Christine (Charles DDS) Hambrook, Clare L.(Kathleen) Garner, Jr. J.D. L.L.M. taxation, James (Lisa) Garner, MD, and Thomas (Alisha) Garner, professional golfer; by grandchildren: Kelly (Andre DMD) LeBeau DMD, Charles (Kate) Hambrook II JD, Brian Garner, Colleen (Mark) Spitzig, DMD, Gregory (Amanda) Garner, JD, and Christopher Hambrook, now attending Marquette University School of Dentistry and soon to be married to Katie Horvath; and by his four great-grandchildren: Ada LeBeau, Luke LeBeau, Josie Spitzig, Francie LeBeau, and his sister Barbara Babock. Special thanks to Dr. Gordon Onstad, Dr. Joel Gellman, and Dr. James Garner for medical care beyond the call of duty;, and to Jennifer MacFarlane and Rose Whittaker who filled his last days with laughter, dignity, and compassionate care. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm on Friday, January 27th at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be at 10:30am Saturday, January 28th at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Pompano Beach.
