

BATTLE, Donna Raye Manor, 65 of Pompano Beach, FL, Former Muncie, IN resident, passed away Thursday October 21, 2010 in Pompano Beach, Florida after struggling with cancer. Donna was born in Muncie on February 21, 1945 to Earl and Harriett Manor who preceded her in death. In addition, her brother Jack Manor passed away this last July.
Donna was a proud Bearcat/Rebels having graduated from Muncie Central/Southside High School in 1963 were she was a Cheerblock Leader, Senior Council and participated in many other school clubs; she also received a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Education degree from Ball State University. Donna taught for seven years in the Muncie area schools. In Florida, she taught at Broward College were she motivated and inspired students for thirty five years. Her students and colleagues respected, admired, and loved her. She is survived by her husband Colin Battle and son Ryan Earl of Pompano Beach, Fl, son Kerk Manor Battle (wife Liz and grandson Colin Ryan) of Cape Coral, Fl, son Tracy Kilian Battle (wife Maria, granddaughter Kayla and grandson Logan) of Palm Bay, Fl, daughter Stephanie Grace Battle of Fort White, Fl. She is also survived by her nephews Marc Manor (wife Myrna sons Alex and Andrew) of Jacksonville, Fl, Rick Manor of Muncie and his son Eric Manor of Ft. Wayne, In, as well as the nephew’s mother Joan Manor of Muncie; nephew Jack William Manor (wife Brooke) of Cleveland, Ga; cousins Rick Smith (wife Pam, daughters Leslie and Erin, granddaughter Blair) of Indianapolis, In, Dee Anne Delks her son Mathew (wife Catherine and son Jameson) daughter Jennifer (husband Marc) of Indianapolis, In, and Jack Turner (wife Nancy and the fine Turner clan) of Muncie, In. Despite having moved to Florida in 1976, Donna never lost her Hoosier roots and still has many good friends in the area particularly Kathy Lewis of Losantville, In, and too many others to mention, that have supported her throughout her life. A Celebration of Life Service was held in South Florida. Burial will take place at Elm Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Wednesday, November 3, 2010.
