She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Luigi and Catherine Perullo on July 16, 1922.
Dora was preceded by her loving husband Pat Manocchio of 56 years, daughter Antoinette Crysler, and son-in-law Joseph. She is survived by her son Dominick and daughter-in-law Rhonda, her daughter Patricia and son-in-law Brian. She is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She had seven brothers and sisters.
Family and faith meant everything to her. She showed her love in many ways but mostly through her cooking, baking, and crocheting. Many of her recipes have been handed down to family and friends through generations.
She and her husband opened a luncheonette in Bay Ridge in Brooklyn New York where they worked long hard hours making customers happy with her Italian subs, milkshakes, and egg creams. Her customers were like family to her.
They moved to Peekskill, New York for a few years and in 1962 moved to Canarsie in Brooklyn, New York until she retired from Western Electric Company in 1981. Her dream came true when she was able to move to Florida. Since she loved to work she took a job at Publix in the bakery department which we all know was her happy place. She worked at Publix well into her 80’s. She said the secret to a long life was hard work.
She spent time enjoying her children and grandchildren in Florida and visiting them in New Jersey.
She was the Best Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend to everyone.
She lived a long, beautiful life and enriched the lives of everyone she knew. Heaven gained another angel. She will be deeply missed.
