Dorothy Jean Michelsen

Dorothy Jean Michelsen was born March 28, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Thomas B. Lyter and Ruth Strickler Lyter. Dorothy graduated from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin with a BA in English and she worked many years as a substitute Teacher. Dorothy married Stanley K. Michelsen on June 4, 1946. Together they had five children and she is survived by her son, Eric (Rosalie) Michelsen, son, David, son Stan, Jr. and daughter Chris Ann (James) Corry. She is predeceased by her daughter Karen Williams, her husband Stanley, her parents and her sister Ruth Lyter Laske. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Sean, Caitlin, Adam, Danny, Jennifer, Christie and Amanda and four great-grandchildren, Piper, Parker, Kendall and Elizabeth. Services will take place on Saturday August 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at Christ Church United Methodist, Pompano Beach, FL. Burial will be at Pompano Beach Cemetery, Pompano Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Dorothy Jean Michelsen’s name to Florida Methodist Children's Home, P.O. Box 6299, Deltona, FL 32728.
