It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved family patriarch at 81 years of age, surrounded by his whole family, on August 12, 2024. Edwin Shaw McManus was born in Crosby Minnesota, to his parents, Clare E. McManus and Mary McLauchlan. He was married to the love of his life, Claudette Girard McManus, for 58 joy-filled years. He was blessed with his 3 children, Patrick, Stephen, and Valerie and his 3 bonus children through marriage, Marcia, Gisel, and Oren. He also had 5 grandchildren Ashley, Tyler, Timothy, Finn, and Zoey, who all lovingly called him PaPaPa. Edwin was a devoted family man, a patriot, and proudly of Irish descent. Mr. Ed, as he was known by many, was an avid traveler and explored the world by plane, boat, and RV. As an avid aviation enthusiast he became a licensed pilot and put his knowledge of avionics to work by building his own experimental aircraft which is still flown regularly by his son, Patrick. He loyally worked for Air Canada for 25 years and was offered promotions multiple times, which he wisely declined so that he could maintain an enjoyable lifestyle for his family in South Florida.
