

Born on November 9, 1927, in Twelve Mile, Indiana, she was the daughter of John Tedford and Minnie(Dennison)Sullivan. Her parents preceded her in death.
Ann was a graduate of Logansport High School, and went on to Ball State University and graduated in 1950 with a degree in Education. She went on to obtain 2 masters in 1956 and 1967 at the University of Michigan.
Ann started her teaching career in Bluffton School System 1950-1953, Logansport Community School Corporation 1953-1955; 1957. In 1957, Ann had the ideal opportunity to teach in the Broward County School distinct in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she taught until her retirement in 1989.
Ann was a strong, independent woman living independently until her death. She was a great friend to many, and was cherished by all. She took pride in her Indiana roots. She was especially known to many friends as a walking Encyclopedia/Webster Dictionary of the community of Twelve Mile, even though, she resided in Florida. She kept in touch with her family and friends back home. She always wanted to know what was going on in Twelve Mile community in which she grew up in. She loved to hear stories how the new generations is keeping up with the traditions of the Twelve Mile 500 and the Living Christmas Pageant. The community of Twelve Mile was always on her mind. She truly loved her visits back home in her earlier years. You could certainly see it in her eyes and understand how much her heritage meant to her. Those Indiana stories told to her kept her “Back Home in Indiana”.
She started a new chapter, when she moved into John Knox Village in 2013. She felt right at home and was able to enjoy what the campus had to offer. She often talked about how the facilities gives the residents their independence and also gave them a sense of longevity. She was truly pleased with John Knox Village staff and the activities that were offered there. Most of all, she was truly pleased with John Knox Village with how gracious and courteous the staff was and how they made her feel comfortable, as her health was declining.
Ann loved life and had a zest for it. To spend a day with Ann meant you would walk away understanding more about life and how it enriches your own life. She was “Always the constant teacher.”
Ann leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Ann is survived by a niece, Jessie Ann McVay of Twelve Mile, Indiana; 2 Great Nieces, Diana McVay of Logansport, Indiana; Catherine (Chris)Calisto of Twelve Mile, Indiana; and a Great Nephew, Phillip(Barbara)McVay of Lafayette, Indiana. She also has several Great, Great Nieces/Nephews, and 2 Great, Great, Great Niece/Nephew.
Preceded in death, her brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Thelma Sullivan, and nephew Darl McVay.
A Service of remembrance for Ann will be held at the auditorium in John Knox Village on June 22, 2023 at 4pm. She will be buried along the side of her parents at Mount Hope cemetery in Logansport, Indiana at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to the John Knox Village auditorium in her honor.
