On Wednesday, January 5, 2022, our loving mother Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Content, longtime resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away peacefully at the age of 92. Betty was born in New York, New York to the late Arthur G. “Doc” Croker, a prominent Manhattan dentist, and Genevieve (Walsh) Croker of Scranton, Pennsylvania, a career English teacher. Betty attended St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School before marrying Madison Avenue commercial storyboard artist Walter “Dirk” Content of Larchmont, New York.
Betty was a beautiful and fiery Irish red-head and devout Catholic who had a wonderful sense of humor and a loving heart. She had traveled the world and it was her most ardent pursuit. Sports were also a passion, especially football. She was an avid New York Giants fan but loved Don Shula’s Dolphins too and thought Tom Brady was heaven sent. Mom also adored the Miami Heat during their glory years!
Betty is survived by her sister Genevieve McCormack of Palm Beach Gardens and by her three children and their spouses including Michael Dirk Content & Yulia of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Brian Arthur Content & Cynthia of Palm Beach Gardens, and Mary Beth Content Lapointe & Richard of Plantation. Betty was most proud of her eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
We miss her dearly.
