Ervin Yates Eaker

Ervin Yates Eaker passed away to be with the Lord on April 15, 2017 after a long illness, with his loving wife Jean by his side. He was a long standing member of the Grace Brethren Church in Pompano Beach and Ft. Lauderdale and more recently the Grace Baptist Church. He is a graduate of Georgia Technical Institute in Atlanta with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering and worked for several decades at Florida Power and Light. He served in the Navy in WW II and then joined the Air Force and then Air Force Reserve for over 20 years as liaison to the Air Force Academy and was a member and officer in the Reserve Officers of America. He volunteered at the VA Clinic in Fort Lauderdale and North Broward hospital for many years after his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean B. Eaker, son, Ervin Yates Eaker, Jr, MD and daughter in law, Mary Elizabeth Eaker (and her parents Charles and Mildred Davis), grandchildren Jonathan Y. Eaker, Jessica M. Eaker, Stephen C. Eaker, greatgrandchild Ava Elizabeth Eaker, and brothers Keith Eaker and Lewis Eaker. He will be greatly missed and was loved by many.
