Georgette Stewart born November 16, 1923 in Oran, Algeria. Preceded in death by her husband Dallas Stewart. Survived by her 6 children Suzanne, Vicky, Michele (JM), Robert, Claude (Sue) and Yvette (Dave, her "favorite son-in-law "); 5 grandchildren Jean-Claude (Suzanne), Nicole, Marie (Steve), Julie (Kevan) and Blake (Chelsea); 4 great grandchildren Trevor, Brooklyn, Alexis and Little Kevan. We can't forget her beloved dog Frederick. Also survived by extended family Lyn and Lisa Campbell and bonus grandson Aidan Campbell, and Bob and Rana Hutson.
Georgette's early years were spent as an accountant in Oran, Algeria for a construction company. That all changed when Georgette met the love of her life, Dallas, in North Africa during World War II and immigrated to the United States shortly after the war settling in Detroit Michigan where she started her new life and family. She taught herself English by listening to the radio and TV. She joined the French club in Detroit, where she made many friends. She also returned to France to visit family and friends when she could. During her later years she could usually be found on her beloved back porch watching "her" fountain in the distance, working crossword puzzles or scratching a lottery ticket. Georgette's 99 and a half years were spent to the fullest. Regularly visiting casinos, watching her Dolphins, visiting/hosting friends and family, or showing people how to dance at a party. Georgette was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. Her personality and wit will keep us all going.
