Jerry, as my former boss, then business partner, semi-neighbor, and friend, I can say you were one of a kind.  Great DAD, friend, co-worker, and role model for how to live one's life on your own terms.  You are terribly missed, but leave riches beyond words in the people you touched.  Rest well My Friend. I always remember Jerry's remarkable intensity and thoroughness when we worked together. When I thought I knew it all, he had done everything I did 5 times. His passion was amazing, he loved to teach other people with a calm patience and never looking for an ounce of recognition. And honest to the core. No one from either side of the assessment table ever....ever questioned his work.
He sat at his desk, buried in a project, sometimes with a day passing without uttering a word. But the one time he was loud, was when he would talk to his daughter on the phone. The excitement in his voice was uncharacteristic of him. At the end of the conversation, he would say...almost yell, "I love ya kiddo!!" As I'm sure she knows, she was his world. And Paula, who most of us never met, was seen a his cherished sidekick, sounded like a female version of him...
I pray, i will always uphold his level of integrity, his passion for life and for people, and being happy with simple things...to the physical end. Til we meet again, Jerry....you are missed.

Unfortunately, it is times like this that we realize what a valuable asset we have been blessed to have at our disposal.You always were available to share your invaluable knowledge without hesitation, and I have learned so much from you.
As a leader in our division for so many years, you exemplified professionalism, honesty, ethics, transparency, an attitude of fighting to the end while looking for the common good for all parties regardless of which side they were on, while having fun and getting paid for your services.
Thank you for all your teachings and for always putting our office first. You showed us that integrity and respect are still values in our society that should be incorporated into our everyday business. The example you set for our division will be with me for the rest of my life and one which I will strive to uphold.

My sincere sympathies to the family.  I was deeply sadden when I heard about Jerry's passing.  I had the pleasure of working with Jerry in the POER Newport Beach, CA office back in the late 80's.  He was a great person to work with and learn from. Rest in peace Jerry.

My deepest condolences to the family. I also had the honor to work with Jerry at MFP even though I did not know him well he was the kind of person that made you feel like you knew him all your life.  He was kind and funny and always put you at ease.  May he be at peace and free from suffering.

You will forever be a part of me.  As my mentor in business you taught me the only way.  That was the right way.  Not the easy way but the right way.  No short cuts.
The decipline, intergrity and honor in which you went about your business was impeccable and uncompromising.

I worked for Jerry at Marvin F. Poer & Co. and it was one of the best experiences of my life.  It was a joy to go to work everyday with Jerry and the rest of the employees.  We had some great times.  He was easy to work for and always ready to talk or listen.  This is a sad day indeed...Rest in peace Jerry.

Jerry, thanks for being a friend and the laughs we had. We will miss you.
