Gracien Bonhomme, affectionately known as Mr. Bo, entered this world on July 23, 1940, in Jacmel, Haiti, and departed on November 17, 2023, in Boca Raton, Florida. At the age of 15, he embarked on a journey to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he worked as a blacksmith for Damien and served in the ministry alongside his brother.
In Port-au-Prince, Gracien built a beautiful life, marrying his beloved wife and raising four children. The year 1987 marked a significant chapter as he immigrated to the United States, striving to establish a foundation for his family. In the year 2000, his dream came true as he joyfully reunited with his children, having worked tirelessly as a busboy at Boca Point Country Club and in the pantry for Monty for a combined 22 years.
Mr. Bo was a man of compassion, cherishing small victories and celebrating life's moments. His love for sports, wrestling, and staying informed about his homeland through Haitian news showcased his diverse interests. A devout individual, Gracien found solace in reading the Bible, prayer, and attending church.
Health-conscious throughout his life, Gracien devoted time to morning and afternoon exercises after retirement. At home, he became a master of self-sufficiency, meticulously caring for his house, cooking, and maintaining the lawn. Despite his independence, his children were always in his thoughts—he never forgot their birthdays, consistently called, and generously bestowed gifts.
A dedicated father to Jean, Mirlene, Marie and Carine; and a devoted grandfather, Gracien valued family gatherings during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and holidays, emphasizing the importance of unity. His legacy lives on through the ten grandchildren he adored; Roodens, Catianna, Marvin, Kensley, Bruce, Kevin, Jason, Pheadra, Clarens and Stefy; as well as his nephew, Jean-Pierre; cousin, Louvedor and daughter in law, Carida.
Gracien Bonhomme will be remembered for his hard work, unwavering faith, and the love he shared with his family. May he rest in eternal peace.
