Jeff was the beloved husband of 48 years to the love of his life, Susan, with whom he built a beautiful family and shared a lifetime of devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership. He was a proud and loving father to Michelle Forrest (Chris) and Shawn Heller (Cristy), and nothing brought him greater joy than his role as grandfather to his cherished Isabella.
Jeff was predeceased by his father, Lou Heller, and is survived by his loving mother, Lynn Heller; his siblings Larry, Mike, Wendy, and Todd; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Jeff proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a man of intelligence, grit, and determination. Though significant health challenges often made simple survival his greatest daily task since the age of 32, Jeff faced every obstacle with courage and grace. He was a remarkable fighter who survived two kidney transplants, two liver transplants, and multiple heart issues. But he never allowed those hardships to define him.
Jeff’s childhood passion for fish tanks and his entrepreneurial spirit was naturally passed onto his son Shawn. Over many years they both built an aquarium and coral farming business that is still growing today. As with everything that interested him and his family, Jeff dove in completely, learning all he could about any subject and quickly became the guy who always had all the answers. He was truly a jack of all trades, capable, curious, and endlessly resourceful.
Jeff loved life and all it had to offer. He was an athlete in every sense—excelling in sports, enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, hockey, and competition of all kinds until his health no longer allowed it. He also gave generously to his community, coaching youth hockey for many years and mentoring countless young athletes.
He loved music, especially playing guitar. And he treasured every moment spent with family above all else. Jeff believed every day was a gift because, in his life, it truly was.
Those who knew Jeff knew a man of strength, kindness, and quiet resilience. He never complained about his pain or the burdens he carried. Instead, he cared deeply for others, always asking how you were doing and making sure you knew that you mattered. He was a faithful friend, a wise businessman, a devoted father and husband, and the steady rock of his family.
Jeffrey Allyn Heller will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
