It is with great sorrow and a heavy heart that I announce to my FB family and friends that my Dad, Joe Guglielmetti, Sr. passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 from complications from too many ailments to list. He was 86 years old. He was a great man who had many friends. As those of you who knew him can avow that he was a tough guy who took gruff from no one but also had a generous heart of gold. Family was everything to him and he proved that to me and the rest of my family in many different ways. He served as an MP in the Army during the Korean War and as such his funeral will have some military honors.
His burial services will be as he would have wanted....short, classy and without a lot of running around to inconvenience his friends. His wake, military procession and burial will take place all in one day at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens located at 200 West Copans Rd., Pompano Beach Florida on Thursday June 8th. Their # is 954-784-4000. The wake starts at 9:30 AM followed immediately by military and religious ceremonies and finally interment. Within a couple of hours of this post all pertinent information will be found on the web at forestlawnnorth.com.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, my mother Frances. Also by my sister Carol Bromback and her husband Bill, his grandchildren Matt Bromback and Michelle Sullivan and their spouses Stephanie Bromback and Brian Sullivan, and the latest bright life in his heart, his great granddaughter Claire Sullivan.
I'd been trying to help my Mom take care of him lately and he told me two days before he died that he could never repay me for my efforts. I told him "There is no repaying here. What you've done for me over my 58 years could NEVER be repaid." I love you Dad and miss you.
