Joann and Family, I am so sad to learn of Joe's untimely passing.  Please accept my deepest condolences.  In my mind, we're all seventeen years old and Joe is playing the sousaphone in the Pompano High School marching band.

Joe, thanks for all the times you were there when Michelle and I need you for our appliances.  We had a lot of fun at family functions and we are glad all of our kids spent some time with their Uncle. Please keep an eye on us from up above!

Uncle Joe,

There is one thing for certain and that is that your wit and sense of humor made you one of a kind.  I would often marvel at family functions how funny you were and how you could take any situation and make it seem like it wasn't so bad just by adding some of your comedic perspective to it.  You had such an incredible perspective on life and you were always able to find a way to keep everyone laughing.  That was your gift.  Your personality was infectious to be around and that is how I will always remember you.  

Our family has endured some incredible tragedies as of late and for many of us it is hard to find that "Uncle Joe" perspective.  I wish I had your gift to keep everyone from the sadness but my saving grace is knowing that you are now at peace with Grandma, Papal, Billy and Ashley. I know that you will keep them all laughing until we are all together again.  You will be loved and missed but never forgotten. Heaven just gained an amazing man.  RIP

A twin, a brother, a father, an uncle, and a friend. He was cared for by my grandmother so dearly. Words can not explain the pain that she has that you aren't here with us anymore, and it breaks my heart to see her in pain. I will take care of her forever. We love and miss you.

One of the things I remember with Joe was our first date. After taking me home from a party where my date left me, Joe you took me home. You ask me what would I be doing in the morning. Telling you I was going hunting surprised you. At 6am you came to my house to go hunting and it was love from then on. RIP Joe. I will always love you.

Uncle Joe,
It was a little over a month ago that you laid your head down to rest for the night, but instead of you waking up in the morning you left us behind to go and find peace and a pain free new life. I know you are with Grandma, Papal, Uncle Billy and your son Ashley. I find comfort in knowing you are all together now but the loss of you is still very fresh. Mom misses you so much you have been with her from the time the two of you were born (6 minutes apart). Please know we will never forget you or lose any of the memories we have of us all. I love you and always will. Now it is your turn to be my mom's angle and watch over her. I know you will have one arm and Billy will have the other. For now RIP and some day we will all be together again.

Well we're back home now from my father's  memorial service down in pompano bch florida. It was a quick bitter sweet trip. I love you pop. I know u r finally home. I'm gonna miss u for the rest of my days. No longer do I have that person I can call when I can't fix something. No longer will I b able to ask who won a certain battle in a particular war. U were a wealth of knowledge and I'm gonna miss not having u to teach me. U were the smartest most kind man I have ever known. Ur heart was so big it was actually a negative at times. You were always there for me and for Ashley Mims and even after ur divorce u would be there for Brenda Moe. I hope u and ash are kicking it up there, billy as well. Yall 3 so needed rest. I just wish u could've found it while u guys were still here. For wht ever reason yall were called home one after the other. And 1 of u called himself home. It's that that makes all of this so hard. I wasn't supposed to have to do this without my brother. Oh well. Such is life. I love u dad and already miss u incredibly. Say hey to grandma and grandpa. If u c ash tell em I love em and miss em and wish he were here. Until we all meet again.

I can't thank you enough for being the good man you were. As I sat through the service I was able to watch your loved ones celebrate you. Through all of your highs, lows, and inbetweens...That's what family is for. You were a very lucky man to have all of them. Sadly I only got to know you through a few visits...You live on through your son. He's not only an amazing companion but one of the most amazing father's I have ever encountered.  We all know he gets that from you,  Thank You! May you rest in peace. All my love and prayers too.

Words cannot express the loss we feel. We can only reminisce about the many joys and experiences we have shared through the years. I remember talking to Joe just a few months ago about history. He loved World War II and Civil War history. He always got excited when talking about it. He will be missed but never forgotten. His memories will live in our hearts forever.

Joe was here fixing things many times during the 90's after our return to Florida and we had many conversations and lots of laughter reminiscing our high school memories. Good bye was something you and I said every day on the phone. Now good bye means forever and that is a hard thing for me to say. I keep hoping that the phone will ring and we will have many more good byes  but I realize that is not going to happen and that breaks my heart. All the plans we made for your future on earth can't compare to your new heavenly plan that you have now. I know you hurt for so long and now you have no pain. In my mind, I can see you climbing stairs and walking everywhere, which was something you could not do for a long time. I know you are together again with Ashley, Billy, Mama and Daddy. Give them all a hug and kiss for me and save one for yourself.  Now I have my whole family watching out for me. One last time, I want to tell you that I love and miss you and will for the rest of my life. RIP

My friend, my brother.  Thank you for 60 years of memories.  Memories of adventures, challenges, fun and mischief.  We quietly grew from carefree, freckle faced kids to "old and grey" senior citizens in what seems to be an instant.  Thank you for sharing laughter and good times with me and thank you for "family".  I know God is keeping the motor running for you on that old Corvair to take you on the next adventure.  God Bless You.  I'll  will never forget.

Loosing you Joe will change our lives for ever. You are still a big part of our everyday life as Joann talks about you and wishes you could call. We know life on earth is short but your's was too short. You where just starting a new venture where you met some new friends that were with you 24/7. We know how much you loved having someone around all the time to talk with and we were so happy you found that. I know in my heart you did not want to leave this world and your family right now, but that is not a choice we get to make. When you reconnect with Ashley, Billy and your parents l believe you will find the journey was a good one. Knowing how much you cared for your family's well being, you will still be able to keep an eye on Tom, Olivia and Joann  from a much better view now. With all of that said I want you to know that you will be missed and loved by all everyday. It is 2:42 am and if you are reading this as I write I hope I have not kept you up to late.
