

Laura Rosa Colón, was a generous, faithful, compassionate, and selfless soul, passed away on September 16, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on May 24, 1939, in Manati, Puerto Rico, Laura was predeceased by her parents, Roman Robles and Josefina Caban.
Laura was a dedicated businesswoman, owning and operating several hair salons. Her passion for hairstyling was matched by her commitment to volunteering with children in special education programs at local schools.
In 1958, Laura married Ernesto Colón, who predeceased her in 2023. She is survived by her daughter, Nilsa McKinney, and her husband Frank; her son, Erik E. Colón, and his life partner Dawn Lindsey; and her cherished grandchildren, Laura McKinney, Jake Colón, and Erik A. Colón; her brother, Israel Robels-Caban. Laura was also an aunt to many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her three siblings.
Laura was a devoted plant lover, often found tending to her beautiful garden. She had a fondness for looking into the sky to observe the puffy clouds and birds. She enjoyed baking and took great pleasure in spoiling her grandchildren. Her involvement in the church was profound, volunteering tirelessly for fundraising and other activities.
Laura's selflessness was a clear testament to her character, as she always thought of others before herself. Her family extends their gratitude to those who assisted in her care during her final days, including Vicki Orr, Sue Ward, Melisa Spady, Carol Graff, Eunice Johnson, and Evan Gilliam.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on September 25, 2025, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, located at 840 George Bush Blvd, Delray Beach, FL 33483. Following the service, a Committal Service will take place at 1:30 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens North, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064.
Laura's legacy is one of kindness and humor, often responding to compliments with her signature phrase, when told "You look pretty today,' she always would respond 'Just today?'" She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
