Marian Celona

Marian was born in Miami Beach, Florida to David & Lillian Huss. She had 2 older brothers Richard & David. She grew up a beautiful debutant in and around the greater Miami Area enjoying all of the usual native Floridian adventures.

She was a talented figure skater throughout her teenage years and after some time of dating Gerald Bouchard ( who was a floor guard where they both skated ), they married and in 1965 they had their son Michael. They would separate 2 years later, becoming friends again in their later years.

She was a graduate of Miami Sr High and was planning on following the family path in the airline industry as a flight attendant. Marriage and family life with her son Michael prevailed.

While working in an office in Miami, she met am impressive Miami police officer who was investigating her employer. In 1969 she married her guardian angel Charles R Celona. Together they brought their daughter Frances into the world and family with whom she would spend the next 40+ years raising kids and working hard to make ends meet and getting through the ups and downs life brings us all.

She lived full Italian family style and made every holiday and special occasion something to remember.

She was most often seen with her camera or video cam making sure to capture as many happy moments as possible.

Marian spent the main years of her career working with in the Broward County School System most notably as a guidance counselor at Margate Middle where she worked over 30 years until she retired. She continued meeting with her school pals for lunches and outings for many years because they were family.

Her years with Charlie came to a close in when he passed away due to complications from diabetes. Following Charlie’s passing, Marian spent a great deal of time with her niece and best friend Fran Todd and her family in Marianna, Fl. This time provided a respite from the constant reminders of missing Charlie. She & Fran (Chi Chi) would give Thelma & Louise a run for their money. They gambled and laughed themselves silly for years Marian was thrilled when her best friend showed up for an impromptu visit the week before Marian passed. Perhaps she was waiting for just that visit.

Marian is survived by her son & daughter and step children along with MANY grandchildren & great grandchildren that she so enjoyed watching grow.

Her family includes: Her Son Michael David Bouchard (m: Linda Bouchard ), Her daughter Frances Celona Hersey (m: Phillip Hersey ), her stepsons Charles Jr (deceased ), Salvatore (m: Leslie), John ( m: Dawn), Jerry, Peter ( deceased ) (m: Kelly ), Francesca ( m: Skip ) Rose Celona ( m: Dan), Victor ( m: Beverly )

Her Grandchildren: Santina, Nicole, Florida, Elijah, Steven, Christina, Victoria, Katherine, Jaime, Jennifer, John Jr, Stephen, Charles III ( dec), Gina, Chad, Amanda ( dec), Tia & Cara along with even MORE Great -Grandchildren.

We feel it important to mention that her care taker Brandon Cohen had become like another son to Marian. He was with her every day for the last year & a half and was amazing in his patience and kindness and care of her was incredible and we appreciate him beyond measure.

There was nothing Marian enjoyed more than having everyone together for any occasion- and with a family that large- there was always a reason to have a gathering. She loved traveling (Especially to Las Vegas), good food, a good bargain, new babies in the family and of course the Miami Dolphins! She was an avid lifetime fan, even when we were terrible! She was usually the one yelling at the tv the loudest on game day!

She valued each and every person she had in her life. She tried to make sure everyone knew they were important to her in some way or another.

While we know she is in good hands, she will be missed beyond words by so many who loved her and she will live on in our hearts forever.
