

Funeral services for Monique Lillian Johnston, 85, will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 19, in the chapel at Kraeer Funeral Home in Pompano Beach with Deacon Gustavo Barros from Assumption Catholic Church officiating. After the service, burial will be at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida. Monique Johnston passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Monique Johnston was born in Belley, France July 15, 1932, and grew up in France and Germany. In 1953, she met and married Joseph Andrew Johnston who was stationed with the U.S. Army in Germany. They returned to the United States to live and raise a family in Texas, North Dakota and finally Florida for the next 54 years till his death in July 2007. Monique Johnston was a wife, mother, homemaker and active volunteer in her church, working in the church office in North Dakota and at the food pantry in Pompano Beach.
Survivors include three daughters, Yasmin Herbert (husband, Robert), Debbie Aichele, and Trish Burch (husband, Doug), one brother, Andre Brun, two sisters, Regine Bourgine and Evelyne Descamps, three grandchildren, Jason, Lindsay, Andrew, and one greatgrandson, Oliver.
