Richard Alan Weppler

Funeral services will be held 12pm – 2pm, Monday, July 5, 2021 at Kraeer Funeral Home at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens and will be followed by a memorial service at the American Legion Post 222 from 3pm – 5pm.

Richard was born in Toronto, Canada to Kathleen Boyd Carter and Albert James Carter on December 4, 1942. Although born in Canada, Richard was a US citizen and was raised in Summit, NJ where he attended high school at Summit High. He married Margaret Ritchie on January 3, 1966 in Pompano Beach, FL. He graduated from Florida Atlantic University and worked for the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as an IRS Agent for over 25 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the U.S. Army. He served as Chairman and Board Member of Priority One Credit Union and Treasurer for the American Legion Post 222 for over 30 years.

Richard is preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Boyd Carter Poole.

Richard is survived by his spouse, Margaret Weppler; his daughter, Stephanie Weppler and her spouse, Will Reid; his sister, Diana Martin; his nieces, Deborah and Kimberly Martin; and his dog, Toby (aka “Tibo”).
