Jennaro, Sharyl Louise, passed away May 22nd, 2025, having lived each day of her life to the fullest. Left to cherish the unbreakable bond that sisters share are Genie Freedman and Marianne Jennaro, who will miss her every moment, while remembering her gentle kindness and tremendous sense of fun. Sharyl treasured her wonderful niece and nephew, Jane and Peter Tomaro, as though they were her own children, and wildly adored their son Hudson, known to his Aunties as The Best Boy Ever. Among those left to remember Sharyl and smile, are her numerous loving cousins. She considered each one special and was proud to be called "Aunt Sharyl" by many of the younger members of her family, enjoying a very close relationship with her Goddaughter, Jennifer and her sisters Kaitlyn and Carissa.
Sharyl was predeceased by her parents, Tom & Virginia Jennaro, her brother, Tom Jennaro, Jr., and her brother-in-law, Doug Freedman, all loved so dearly. As a firm believer that it is a short leap between tears and laughter, Sharyl chose to embrace the latter as often as possible. She truly got a kick out of sharing memories and amusing family stories. Her laughter has not been silenced, as many of us know that we will hear it always.
During these sad days of loss, Sharyl's loved ones are gratified to be reminded of her many (!) friends and the countless (!) lives she touched. Born on an Easter Sunday in the season of redemption and renewal, Sharyl saw the best in others, while always doing her best. She also looked forward to Easter each year as her very special holiday, no matter the calendar date. We won't forget her penchant for adorable "bunny decor", not to mention the creative and challenging Easter egg hunts!
Throughout her multiple tenures as President of Lighthouse Point Women's Club, Sharyl encouraged joint efforts to assist charitable organizations in working for the greater good, all the while lending a helping hand to multiple charities on her own, as well. Sharyl also knew that she was blessed to be surrounded by love throughout her life, and chose to focus on those not as fortunate. Thus, she raised awareness and funds for Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA), serving as a dedicated Board Member. Sharyl's love for all creatures, great and small, led to her support of Pets Are Worth Saving (PAWS), and she found great satisfaction in promoting good care for our four-legged friends.
It would be impossible to list all the people, causes, and daily miracles that Sharyl loved with a complete appreciation. But when you see a gorgeous sunset, or the moon on any night, hear a song that makes you want to dance, notice that something is the color pink, or, most importantly, witness a happy family enjoying themselves together, you can think of Sharyl and know that it all contributed to her unlimited joy. She had a zest for life that included saying "Yes" to spending time with those she loved, and to most adventures, as well.
Sharyl faced her cancer diagnosis with grace and dignity. She fought her personal battle bravely, quietly, and quite determined to avoid burdening others. No matter what each day brought, Sharyl still greeted the world with her sweet smile, positive attitude -- and likely wearing something fabulous. She lived to create beauty and happiness all around her; it is clear that she successfully completed her mission.
Our hearts ache, and we can't help but selfishly wish there had been more time before Sharyl earned her wings. But we know that all of us have been made better by her generous spirit and will carry that gift in our hearts. Sharyl and her family never ended their conversations with each other by saying "Good-bye". Instead it was always, "Love you" (often repeated many times). And if it was going to be too long before being together again, making it a particularly difficult farewell, the encouraging words were, "See you tomorrow". So we say that now to our amazing Sharyl: Love you! See you tomorrow!
