Yuergen Boehmke was born on April 9, 1951 in Wiesbaden, Germany and moved to America with his family in 1952. He served in the Air Force Reserve and was a devoted employee of AT&T. After a long productive career, he retired in 2008. He was a man of many talents and interests. His technical talents included amateur radio (AB4YB), weather stations, photography, and anything computer related. He loved to fly, scuba dive, ride his motorcycle, take walks on the beach, watch the sunrise, and sail.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family. He is survived by two brothers, Klaus (Debbie) and Norbert (Pam), their extended families, and sweetheart, Maureen Kenny. He also leaves behind a great number of friends including neighbors, former co-workers, and just about everyone who ever knew him that was welcomed as his friend. He was a kind and generous man to all. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Herbert and Charlotte, his loving wife, Cindy Sue, and treasured son, Jason Kyle.
Yuergen believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and LORD. He has been reunited with Cindy and Jason.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Florida Oceanographic Society, www.floridaocean.org. FOS does research and advocates for sea turtles on Hutchinson Island where Yuergen loved to observe turtle nesting.
