

Bernice Sullivan, age 90, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Pontotoc Nursing Home. She was born April 11, 1923 to Milton Coleman and Annie Hale Coleman in Pontotoc County, MS. She was a graduate of Ecru High School and a retired factory worker. She was a member of West Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed working cross word puzzles, flower gardening, sewing and gardening. She was loved by everyone who knew her.
Services will be at 1 PM Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc, with Dr. David Hamilton officiating; burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her two daughters: Brenda Lempinen (Jorma) of Finland and Cathy Knight (Jim) of Belden, MS; one son: James A. Sullivan (Diann) of Morrilton, AR; her sister: Bernette Hooker of Thaxton, MS; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: O.C. “Jay” Sullivan, a daughter: Joye Clifton; four sisters: Dena Coleman, Lavene Hunter, Nadine Hollander and Doris Brock; and two brothers: Rayson Coleman and Gerald Wayne Coleman.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday and from 11 AM to 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
