Billy Neal Simmons, age 73, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. He was born April 15, 1946 to Leroy Simmons and Adelle Jaggers Simmons. He was a 1964 graduate of Algoma High School. Billy Neal served his community as a Pontotoc School Board Member and also as Pontotoc County Supervisor for the 5th District from 1988-1999. Billy Neal was a member of Algoma Methodist Church.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, April 26, 2019 at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Rev. Danny Dabbs and Rev. Rob Grant officiating; burial will be in the Pontotoc Memorial Gardens. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the family.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sherrye Denton Simmons; his daughter, Shona Burk (Gregg); his sister, Shelia Crew (Dickey) and his three grandchildren, that he worshipped, Chaia Jordan and Skyler Jordan and Tyler Burk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Shanda Simmons and a granddaughter, Chanda Jordan.
Pallbearers will be Greg Vaughn, Bryer Vaughn, Richey Crew, Scott Brown, Chase Denton, Ryan Adair, Cole Brown and Cade Brown.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday and Friday from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home.
